Disability Access

This page is a resource for Disabled People, the One Voice Access Group, and other people interested in accessible environments.disabled access: to boldly go where everyone has gone before

The built environment is one of the major things that disables us.

One Voice is committed to working to improve the physical environment for all disabled people.

We do this by talking to architects and planners, working with Councillors and officers, doing access audits, holding public meetings on access issues, and having regular access meetings with other disabled people and the city Access Officer at the One Voice access group.

If you are a disabled person interested in helping to make the environment more accessible, why not join us?
Email us to join or find out more.

Access Audits Pack

You will find information and advice on doing access audits, the barriers to access faced by people with various impairments, checklists, sample questionnaires, and design guides on toilets, lifts etc.
We want this pack to be easy for you to use, and to help you with anything you need to know in order to carry out an access audit. It has been designed so that you can add new or updated pages as you wish. All we ask is that you credit One Voice when you use it.
