Web Lurker

Welcome to the new page by One Voice's Web Lurker - each month he tells you about sites of interest to Disabled People.

This month the websites are about holiday accomodation in the UK.

After last month's website feature on disabled united and their information on accessible places to stay for disabled people, One voice has been asked for more information and sites that help - my first One Voice commission - so the page is a bit longer than usual!

So here are some sites that might be useful for disabled people who want to holiday in the Uk:

Tourism for All have information and feedback from disabled people plus a searcheable directory of holiday accomodation, holidays for people with specific impairments (eg blind people, or people with learning disabilities) accessible coaches, accessibility of attractions etc.

Using the menu on the left is a bit long-winded, and you have to click about 7 times before you get anything useful, but the information is good.

Next up is accessible accomodation on this website you search by the area (in UK or abroad) that you want to visit, and the site lists accomodation for rent in that area:

Vitalise offers a different kind of service - they have their own holidays and short breaks centres for disabled people and thier carers. they have downloadable brochures on their site:
