The University offers a wide variety of learning from degrees, and professional qualifications, to shorter courses.
People who wish to get a place on one of the University’s full-time degree or diploma programmes must go through the UCAS system.
You need a UCAS directory and an application form, you can get these from schools and colleges.
Student Enabling Centre
The University has a wide range of support to ensure disabled students can access it’s facilities:
The Student Enabling Centre (SEC), offers a central access point to a range of specialist services and support, covering everything from financial matters to study aid, they will assist you in breaking down disabling barriers that are preventing you from taking part in university life on an equal basis with non-disabled students.

The Disability Unit offers advice and support to disabled students. The Unit can provide a range of services including:
assessment of your support needs, liaison with Special Needs Tutors and other, Note-takers, General Facilitators, Personal Care support.
Some support can be provided as soon as you have provided the Student Enabling Centre with suitable evidence of need.
Other support such as note takers or specialist equipment may need to be funded through the Disabled Students' Allowance.
Communication Support Unit
The Communication Support Unit offers practical support to d/Deaf students, including:
• British Sign Language(BSL) / English interpreters
• lip-speakers
• trained note-takers
• study skills sessions taught by tutors who use BSL

Dyslexia Support Unit
Screenings & Assessments are available for students who think they may have dyslexia, dyscalculia or dyspraxia. The Dyslexia unit provides a range of services including:
• Dyslexia screening and assessment
• Considerate Marking & Tutor awareness sheets
• Copies of handouts/OHP's prior to lectures
• Note – taking support
• Extensions on deadlines
• Special Exam arrangements
• Learning Centre and study support
• Counselling services
• Specialist equipment loans
• Library Facilitator,
• One-to-one specialist Dyslexia Tuition.
