As disabled people we seem to spend a lot of time trying to get hold of information that is useful to us - that tells us about how accessible a service or building is, and covers the things we want to know.
Frequently, we don't know where to get information, or don't know where to look. Sometimes we don't know what services are out there and what we are entitled to, at other times we just want a night out with our mates, but don't know if the place we want to go will be accessible to us.
We wanted to bring together the kind of information disabled people want and need, in one place.
The Directory aims to give you information about where you can get help and information on a wide range of things, like what processes you have to go through to get a disability benefit or a handrail for your loo, what your legal rights are, how to get involved and have a say.
We have grouped information into areas of interest, like money and benefits, leisure, transport, health and wellbeing, etc.
You should be able to find what you are looking for in the contents pages that follow.
This Directory has been researched and checked by disabled people – we have tried to include suggestions for improvements, as well as double-checking the information for accuracy, but if you think we have got something wrong or something has changed, please let us know, so we can change it.
