This
part of the website is for us to display your creativity - stories,
essays, poems, pictures, photos - anything by and for disabled people. From August, we will be starting up One Voice podcasts, you will be able to find them on this page.
Podcasts are a bit like D.I.Y. Radio that you can listen to when you
want. We will put each podcast here so you can download it to your
computer and listen to it when you are ready. You may want to download
it to an mp3 player if you have one, and listen to it on that.
Our podcasts will take the form of reports, discussions, interviews, and the highlights of the bi-monthly newsletter.
If you have an Idea for a One Voice podcast, let us know.
If you want to know more about podcasting, check out our link.
Cassandra
on why we call this special things:Most people
have heard the term 'Special Needs' - it's what people call us when
they don't want to say disabled - it's one of the ways in which they disable us.
Everyone has special needs,
not just disabled people. Even my pet python has 'special needs' (although
in his case, they relate to eating live guinea pigs).
We also know that everyone
has things that are special to them. We don't want everyone's Special
Things, but we do want to hear from disabled people who want to share
their Special Things - their creations, their ideas. This
is a jump page for some of the creative things produced by disabled
people in and around Wolverhampton. Sometimes we may feature the work
of disabled people from other places.
We want this part of the website to include your special things, whatever
they may be.It
might be lists of what's important to you, or poetry, stories, drawings,
photographs, opinions.I
expect it will also include some of my rants! It
may include video clips and audioscapes. It
is also a place for your stuff - so send it in, by email, post, tape,
disk - whatever works for you
